My tofu is a jerk.

I can’t believe that it’s been nearly 8 months since I posted a recipe, where on earth has that time gone? A lot has happened since then! And I haven’t stopped cooking either. I’ve still been dreaming up and tinkering with recipes, eating out, and taking lots of foodie photos (Seriously. SO many food photos. Hundreds. Some have gotten to the stage of “Wow! That looks amazing! ..what the hell was that?”). So expect some photo-catch up posts at some point!
Whilst I haven’t stopped cooking, I did lack the drive to potter over here and actually write it all down. I’m feeling a bit more inspired now though, so let’s try to get back into this!

The strange world we live in.

I know that I said I would be posting again soon, and I promise that I will!

You know how people always say “Don’t read the comments!” on controversial posts? I really need to listen to that advice.
On a post recently about how fish feel pain, it was truly saddening to see the sheer number of comments from people who either don’t care, or don’t understand that all life matters.
I won’t go into a huge rant here, as I feel I’ve spent far too much time on this lately. It did however inspire me to do a little doodle, so I though I would share it here.

I’ll just leave you with this.

No matter who you are, what you believe in, whether you’re an omnivore, vegetarian, vegan, or anything in between – Show some more compassion in your life. So often, you see people who don’t agree throw insults at each other. If we all showed others a little more respect, and showed a little more compassion to other living beings, the world would be a much better place.

We won’t get there overnight. But if everyone made one small effort, then at least we’d be on our way.

Vegan Island!

Helloooooo! My goodness it’s been a while hasn’t it? Don’t you find when you don’t do something for a while, it gets harder and harder to get back to it? That’s what I’ve been like! I’ve still been cooking up all manners of vegan goodies, and I’ve even photographed most of it! So I have literally hundreds of foodie photos to bombard you all with soon :D.

I’ve started doing some little vegan humour doodles! Who here has had the “You’re vegan? But, what if you were stuck on a desert island?” question? Probably nearly everyone! So here’s my little take on it!

Things have been rather busy here lately. In between trying to unpack, organise things, find my craft supplies, do some work, cook, clean, and alternately swearing at the internet, my laptop, and the phone signal (it’s shockingly bad), I’ve been feeling a little lack-lustre.. It’s hard to feel inspired when you’re down to your last carrot and up to your elbows in boxes.

Vegan Mofo – Comforting vegetable & chickpea soup

Good evening! I’m finally -kinda- able to blog again! I’m currently borrowing my partners laptop (which thankfully hasn’t died on me yet!) to type this, so fingers crossed! I have discovered that his laptop doesn’t like my phone.. so I’ve figured out that by uploading the photos to my blog on my phone, I can then edit them using my partners laptop! Phew! I WILL find a way!

The night before yesterday, I had put on a huge pot of chickpeas to cook overnight in my slow cooker. I’d looked into my pantry and had been disheartened to find I only had one tin of chickpeas left! I love chickpeas and use them every week, so I was a little heartbroken.. until I noticed I had several bags of dried chickpeas lurking in my pantry! Problem solved! In they went to cook overnight, so by the morning I had gorgeous, perfectly cooked chickpeas just begging to be used.

Since it was a bit of a chilly day, I thought what better way to use some of the chickpeas, than in a soup!
